Lead Pastor

Tom is a Tennessee native who has a deep love for the landscape and culture of the southwest. He has been married to his wife, Charissa, since 2011 and together they are the grateful parents of two children; Evie & Miles. Tom is a graduate of both Columbia International University (2011) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2018). After graduation he spent six years serving in associate pastor roles in both El Paso, Texas and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania before accepting the lead pastorate at First Baptist Church of Silver City.

It is Tom’s prayer to see the glory of God displayed in Silver and the surrounding areas. He has a passion for exegetical preaching, evangelism, discipleship, and global missions. When he has free time you can find him enjoying time with his family, reading, playing board games, or going on adventurous hikes (that always turn out to be much longer than he initially plans).

Music Leader

Donny moved to Silver City in 2012 where he soon fell in love with the community. He met his wife Rebecca here and they married in 2014. Over the past decade they have been blessed with four children who can be seen on Sunday’s playing around the church with their friends. Also during this time Donny has served in various churches around Grant County preaching and leading music when needed. In 2022, Donny graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s online Accelerate Program with a BA in Biblical Studies and a Masters of Divinity.

Donny’s heart is for the local church to grow in love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and God’s Word. He believes that the music the church sings should work towards that end.

Ministry Assistant

Ann helps coordinate the ministries and teamwork of the congregation as we work together to fulfill the great commission.

Community Life Coordinator

Our mission at FBC is to fulfill the “one another” commands of Scripture and by doing so, the world will know that we are Jesus’ disciples. Marty helps us accomplish this goal by building community in our church and facilitating relationships in the Silver area as a whole.
